In this nature - educational excursion you will get to know the forests and majestic mounds surrounding Naujoji Vilnia, as well as the animals that live here. You will hear legends and true stories about the great dukes who once walked this land.
Tour program
Excursion meeting place: Near Vilnelė dam, Kojelavičius st. 50
- During the sightseeing tour you will learn that the boundary separating the two last glaciations passes through Naujoji Vilnia, how the glaciers brought boulders to Lithuania and how the Vilnelė valley was formed.
- You will visit historical barrows and look for left messages on stones, carved by our ancestors. You will also visit Barsukynė burial mound, on which the neo-pagans celebrate the New Year holidays.
- During the sightseeing tour you will talk about the small amphibians that live here, the beautiful swans and the salmon swimming in the river.
- You will find out which roads were traveled by historical figures - such as Vytautas, Jogaila, Alexander, Stepon Bator and even Napoleon Bonaparte. What is the Jogailaičiai dynasty and Barbora Radvilaitė are related to this settlement.
- During the sightseeing tour you will visit the castle hill, which commemorates the visits of the Vasa family to the palace, the historical Vilnelė dam and learn many legends and real events from the history of Naujoji Vilnia.
Tour duration ~ 2.5 hours.
Price of the sightseeing tour – from 190 € for a group of 10 people; from 250 € for agroup of up to 20 people.
